Description:Dino Saluzziâ??s first solo bandoneon album in more than 30 years finds the Argentine master musician in reflective mood, looking back across a richly creative life and forward to a new dawn (Albores means â??daybreakâ?). The album begins with a farewell to composer Giya Kancheli (â??Adios Maestro Kancheliâ?), and works its way towards memories of Dinoâ??s father on â??Don Caye â?? Variaciones sobre obra de Cayetano Saluzziâ?. The solo recital, composed entirely of Saluzzi compositions, also offers prayers, evokes images of Buenos Aires in its golden age, alludes to the fictions of Borges and to the cultural wisdom of the ancestors. In brief, Albores is a classic â??storytellingâ?? Dino Saluzzi album in the tradition established by Kultrum and Andina. It is also, as annotator Luján Baudino observes, â??an artistic manifesto of the bandoneon, exploring the full range of its expressive capacities.â? -
An album of soliloquies. After highly acclaimed music from the family band and orchestra, here is the great Argentinean bandoneon player Dino Saluzzi in his first purely solo project in decades. Recorded in Buenes Aires, it's a powerful reminder of his gifts as an intimate musical storyteller of great subtlety. Reaches back to early memories with "Don Caye", a touching dedication to Dino's father. Reflects upon the fleeting passage of time, instrument and performer breathing as one.
