Dieses neue Album gilt gewisserma?en als Tribute-Album für den 2018 verstorbenen Bandgründer Erik Lindmark. Dieser war auch noch Teil des Songwriting-Prozesses ?? gemeinsam mit Gitarrist Craig Peters (Ex-ARKAIK), Bassist Ivan Munguia (CONTINUUM) und Drummer Darren Cesca (GORATORY). Und ein Gro?teil der Musik wurde vor rund vier Jahren auch aufgenommen und teilweise gemixt. Für die Vocals holte die Band den ehemaligen Sänger Jacoby Kingston zurück ins Boot, der gemeinsam mit dem früheren Drummer Mike Hamilton (EXHUMED) an der Finalisierung der Story und der Lyrics arbeitete. ??Nucleus?? setzt zudem auf eine breite Riege von Gast-Sängern wie Luc Lemay (GORGUTS), John Gallagher (DYING FETUS), George ??Corpsegrinder? Technical death metal pioneers Deeds of Flesh return after a seven year hiatus with their ninth studio album Nucleus. The band's first release since the tragic passing of guitarist/vocalist and Unique Leader founder Erik Lindmark, who lost a battle with sclerosis in 2018, Nucleus features guest performances from some of the biggest names in extreme metal to celebrate his life and contribution to the genre. Vocalist Jacoby Kingston is joined by: Luc Lemay (Gorguts), John Gallagher (Dying Fetus), George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher (Cannibal Corpse), Frank Mullen (Suffocation), Matti Way (Submerged, Disgorge), Bill Robinson (Decrepit Birth), Dusty Boisjolie (Severed Savior, Illuminegra), Anthony Trapani (Odious Mortem, Severed Savior), Obie Flett (Pathology), Robbe Kok (Disavowed) and Jon Zig (Serpentian).

In my opinion, this is not a full-fledged Deeds of Flesh album, although it is positioned that way. This is more of a tribute to Erik Lindmark. All participants in the project are great fellows who found the strength and time to release this album. The release makes a great impression. But I think that now it is definitely time to put an end to it...
