Description: | Howlin' Wolf (geboren als Chester Arthur Burnett) war ein Chicagoer Bluessänger, Gitarrist und Mundharmonikaspieler. Ursprünglich aus Mississippi stammend, zog er nach Chicago und wurde erfolgreich, wobei er sich eine Rivalität mit seinem Blues-Kollegen Muddy Waters einhandelte. Mit seiner dröhnenden Stimme und seiner imposanten physischen Präsenz ist er einer der bekanntesten Chicagoer Blueskünstler. Mehrere seiner Songs, darunter "Smokestack Lightnin'", "Killing Floor" und "Spoonful", sind zu Blues- und Bluesrock-Standards geworden. Im Jahr 2011 setzte ihn das Rolling Stone Magazin auf Platz 54 seiner Liste der "100 Greatest Artists of All Time". Geboren im Juni 1910, starb er im Januar 1976.
