They were formed in 1979 by Sal Solo, Jak Airport and BP Hurding (previously of X Ray-Spex) and Mik Sweeney. By the time they came to record their first album, original guitarist Jak Airport had left to be replaced by Gary Steadman. They were one of the bands credited as being at the forefront of the nascent â??New Romanticâ? scene along with the likes of Ultravox and Japan. During a six-year career between 1979 and 1985 they released three albums and eleven singles; the most commercially successful of which was the single â??Is It A Dreamâ? that reached No.11 in the UK Singles Chart. Though they only experienced the one Top 20 hit in the UK with â??Is It a Dreamâ??, the band had number one hits in Poland, Portugal, Yugoslavia, Israel, Iceland as well as other countries. This carefully curated deluxe expanded 4CD Set brings together their original album releases plus a comprehensive selection of extended 12â? versions, 7â? edits, B-sides and instrumental versions.
