The Munich based band Embryo was founded in 1969. "Opal" was their first album. Released on the OHR label in 1970, the band led by Christian Burchard (Ã½ 2018) combined numerous genres into a huge crossover project. Jazz-rock, folk, blues, soul, contemporary music, and world music. In the 50th year of the release, the original magnetic tapes have been re-recorded and carefully re-mastered. -

[on disc] Additional information: This reissue is from a different master tape and mix than that of the original LP. Most notable differences include: No hard left and right panning of the instruments. Track 5 is a totally different mix, and omits the last 12 seconds of the original. Track 7 adds strong reverb on the violin and vocals, which are not present on the original LP. Track 8 misses the first 4 seconds. Track durations are not printed on the release. Packaged in a gatefold digisleeve.
