The famous British Library in London owes one of its musical treasures to a tennis player: A manuscript of violin music from around 1680 from Vienna with virtuoso sonatas by and from the circle of the devil's violinist Johann Heinrich Schmelzer (around 1623-1680). Veronika Skuplik, one of today's best baroque violinists, has worked out some of these musical stories with virtuosity and incomparable sensitivity.
