Track lengths are not printed, and the release has no cat#. Track 7 is an untitled instrumental piece. Track 9 "Changes" consists of two individual parts, divided by a period of silence, giving the impression of part two, but it's an instrumental, also known as "Cro-Mags Jam" or "Omega Jam". The printed tracklist omits track 7, continuing after track 6 with "7. Kuruksetra" and "8. Changes".
"Alpha Omega Re-Release" on CD is a powerful reissue of one of the key albums by New York hardcore pioneers Cro-Mags, presented by the label Arising Empire. This release captures the band in a phase where their trademark crossover of hardcore, thrash metal and punk had become even more refined and intense. Razor-sharp riffs, driving bass lines and relentless drumming meet John Joseph's/Harley Flanagan's unmistakable, aggressive yet thoughtful vocal delivery, resulting in a dense, uncompromising sonic experience. Lyrically, the album moves between social criticism, personal struggle and a search for meaning, radiating the raw, street-level authenticity that has made Cro-Mags a reference point for generations of heavy music fans. As a CD edition, this re-release is ideal for collectors and those who want to rediscover the album with fresh ears, bundled in a durable, physical format for home and on-the-go listening.

Formed in the early 1980s in New York City, Cro-Mags are considered one of the founding bands of crossover and NYHC (New York Hardcore). With classic releases that helped define the sound and attitude of the entire scene, they influenced countless bands in hardcore, metalcore and thrash metal worldwide. Their intense live shows, rigorous touring and uncompromising musical stance have secured them a cult following and a lasting legacy; many later artists cite Cro-Mags as a crucial influence on the development of heavy and alternative music. "Alpha Omega" sits in this history as a snapshot of a band pushing their mix of speed, groove and aggression into new territories, and its reissue strengthens their status as genre innovators rather than mere scene veterans.

Arising Empire is a modern rock and metal label known for supporting both established acts and promising newcomers in the heavy music spectrum. With a catalogue that focuses on high-energy guitar music--from hardcore to metal to punk-infused sounds--the label has built a reputation for professional production standards, carefully curated releases and close collaboration with its artists. By re-releasing "Alpha Omega" on CD, Arising Empire underlines its commitment to preserving important milestones of heavy music history while presenting them to a new generation of listeners with contemporary quality and renewed visibility.

OLEG L. - 17/Sep/2024 4 of 5 Stars!
This is not bad and often underrated the third 1992 album from the Cro-Mags. Where as their the best debut The Age Of Quarrel was hardcore punk fury and the second Best Wishes album fused the crossover blend of metal/hardcore , Alpha Omega is more thrash metal.
