Nach dem Funk von â??King Of Rock'n'Rollâ?? aus dem Jahr 1971 tat Little Richard etwas, was niemand hÃ¤tte tun und erwarten kÃ¶nnen â?? er lieÃ? seine bis dahin unerkannte Neigung fÃ¼r Country-Rock zu. Im Gegensatz zum VorgÃ¤nger wurden alle 14 Songs auf â??Southern Childâ?? von Richard geschrieben oder mitgeschrieben â?? vorwiegend eine Country-Rock-AffÃ¤re, die das Label damals zurÃ¼ckstellte. Erst 2005 erschienen die Tracks auf einer lange vergriffenen Label-Retrospektive. Das Album wurde im FrÃ¼hjahr 1972 in Los Angeles aufgenommen, gemischt und gemastert und an das Label Ã¼bergeben. Es wurde eine Katalognummer vergeben und das Cover wurde entworfen, aber Reprise entschied sich stattdessen dafÃ¼r, â??The Second Comingâ?? zu verÃ¶ffentlichen. Beide Alben entstanden mit Bumps Blackwell auf dem Produzentenstuhl, und ungefÃ¤hr zur gleichen Zeit. Jetzt endlich erscheint Southern Child zum ersten Mal so, wie Little Richard es beabsichtigt hatte. -
