"The Shadowthrone (Re-Issue)" is a re-release of Satyricon's legendary second album, originally released in 1994 and now available on CD through Napalm Records. This seminal work stands as a cornerstone of Norwegian black metal, blending icy atmospheres with raw aggression and epic songwriting. The album features monumental tracks like "Hvite Krists Død" and "Woods to Eternity," which have become classics within the genre for their haunting melodies and relentless intensity. Satyricon, formed in Oslo in 1991 by Satyr (Sigurd Wongraven) and Frost (Kjetil-Vidar Haraldstad), are pioneers who helped shape the soundscape of modern black metal. Over their career, they have earned international acclaim with albums such as "Nemesis Divina" and "Now, Diabolical," consistently pushing boundaries while maintaining an unmistakable identity. Napalm Records is renowned for its dedication to heavy music genres, supporting both established legends and emerging talents across the globe.
Great reissue of a classic black metal album from the 90's. Hope that Satyricon reissuenot only this brutal album, but others in their incredible discography.

There are no fundamental differences from the original version, we have before us the same "The Shadowthrone". In this version, it seemed to me, the main difference is in more detailed symphonic parts and "a sharper sound" of electric instruments, as well as a more loudly vocals. It certainly did not get any worse, but if you are used to listening to the previous version, the remaster may seem unusual.
