„Fistful of Metal" ist das Debüt-Studioalbum der amerikanischen Thrash-Metal-Band Anthrax, das im Januar 1984 von Megaforce Records in den USA und von Music for Nations international veröffentlicht wurde. Es enthält unter anderem eine Coverversion von Alice Coopers "I'm Eighteen“. Die Meinungen zu "Fistful of Metal" waren durchaus unterschiedlich. Xavier Russel von Kerrang! nannte es ein großartiges Debütalbum, mit Songs, die eine unglaubliche Geschwindigkeit entwickeln würden. Der kanadische Journalist Martin Popoff lobte den gut produzierten Sound und den "fast opernhaften Anti-Thrash-Gesang" von Turbin. Die Zeitschrift Guitar World setzte das Album auf ihre Liste der "New Sensations: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1984". Im Juni 2019 nahm Decibel „Fistful of Metal“ aufgrund der Reputation als eines der besten frühen Beispiele des Thrash Metal in ihre Hall of Fame auf. -

Vinyl LP pressing. Fistful of Metal is the debut studio album by thrash metal band Anthrax, released in January 1984. It includes a cover of Alice Cooper's "I'm Eighteen". This is the band's only album to feature original frontman Neil Turbin and original bassist Dan Lilker, who were replaced by Matt Fallon (and eventually by third vocalist Joey Belladonna) and Frank Bello, respectively.
