Both here are aptly titled: "Before the Night Descends" is an aching, yearning slice of nostalgia, with Herr K.'s voice strategically doubled up in parts, making for a hauntingly 3D experience; "Circle" is indeed circular, hypnotically winding around a plaintive, ever-fragile hook that refuses to relent, with Herr K. again making expert use of minimalist multi-tracking. Altogether, Prag 83's Énouement brandishes yet more mellow, sublime, and dark alternative folk - rugged to the bone and close to earth, now and forever.
