Yuriy P. - 2021年 12月 23日 This, without exaggeration, epoch-making work became for Rammstein a kind of springboard, thanks to which at least the whole of Europe, including, of course, its Russian part, finally learned about the group. Before the triumphant conquest of the world in the form of an absolutely "bomb" "Mutter" there were still four long years, but the beginning of it was really loud and confident precisely then - in 1997, when the six were previously little known, even after the release of a very, very strong first-born "Herzeleid" ("Heart Torments", 1995) from the former GDR released an album, which is considered by many fans of the group to be the unsurpassed peak of her work to this day. And it really was a qualitative breakthrough, the indisputable merits of which are fully evident already at the first listening: the compositions became more varied, assertive and "hook"; the severity of presentation, without at all losing its hammer-like character, has become much more graceful (in a certain context, of course) and sophisticated, and the music as a whole is much more hit and catchy, and not least thanks to skillful, thoroughly thought out arrangements. Best of all, the highest quality of the album's musical content is determined, in my opinion, by the epithet “cinematic”: not every group is able to compose such emotional and intelligible (in a good way) songs, most of which are breathtaking and goosebumps even today. The group managed to create material that, in no way being primitive, was received "with a bang" by the most diverse categories of listeners; musical groups.
