Description:Warner Collection -Box Set- is an album by Gidon Kremer, released in 2021. The album is a Box Set classical 21-CD. Gidon Kremer, long recognised as one of the world??s most fascinating and adventurous violinists, turns 75 in February 2022. He is as noted for his interpretations of music by his contemporaries as for his mastery of the classical repertoire. ??I really feel like I lived many lives and accomplished more than I could dream about,? he told the New York Times in 2017. ??I??m looking for things I can still accomplish and that maybe others wouldn??t do.? A pupil of the legendary David Oistrakh, Kremer was born in the Latvian capital, Riga. In 1980 he left the USSR and based himself in West Germany, going on to perform with such major musicians as Herbert von Karajan (who called Kremer ??the greatest violinist in the world?), Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Martha Argerich, Mstislav Rostropovich and Yuri Bashmet. All of them feature in this illuminating 21-CD set, Gidon Kremer: The Warner Collection. Another significant presence is Kremerata Baltica, the chamber orchestra Kremer founded in 1992. ??It??s a kind of family,? Kremer has said, describing its spirit as ??youthful, adventurous, lack of routine?. The sheer diversity of music in the collection reflects Kremer??s breadth of vision.
