Timba MM take traditional Cuban sounds (el danzon, el changÃ¼Ã, el son montuno, el yambÃº and the more modern-day genre la timba) and adapt them further with other musical genres from around the world. The result: a blend of contemporary Cuban music infused with a melange of jazz, samba, flamenco and world music of the Americas. Timba MM, pronounced â??Timba emmay emmayâ??, was formed by good friends Michel Medrano Brindis, Mathieu SÃ©nÃ©chal and Adam Goulet. Michel, born in Cubaâ??s vibrant Havana City, where thereâ??s live music on every street, taught himself Afro-Cuban percussion at the age of 17. Inspired by his elder brother Carlitos Medrano, he went on to play in Havanaâ??s famous jazz clubs and well-known festivals such as the Festival Internacional Jazz Plaza. -

Timba MM (pronounced 'Timba emmay emmay') take traditional Cuban sounds and adapt them further with other musical genres from around the world. Michel Medrano Brindis (who has performed with the likes of David Sanborn, Gipsy Kings and Dominique Fils-Aimé) formed Timba MM with good friends Mathieu Sénéchal and Adam Goulet. They compose their own songs inspired by contemporary Cuban artists such as the Pedrito Martinez Group, NG La Banda, Sintesis, Afro Cuban All Stars and Buena Vista Social Club.
