| Description: | One of the greatest Mahler conductors and one of the best Mahler orchestras got together for two concerts in October 1979. And these two performances of Mahler's 9th Symphony were to prove to be unique in several respects, as this was the only collaboration between star conductor Leonard Bernstein and the singular Berliner Philharmoniker. This interpretation became legendary, and when it was first released on CD thirteen years later, it received numerous awards, including two Grammys.
