Samuel G. - 15/Apr/2023 Classic album redone with great presentation. The bonus discs are a cool look at the songs as works in progress as well as some great live material which I always love. My only complaint would be the mixing. A lot of Metallica's stuff often seems to be the product of someone with hearing loss where the high frequencies get loud enough to start hurting your ears while the bass is still faint. But, that's also personal taste and can be adjusted with a little eq.
| | Peter K. - 08/Jan/2023 An excellent 3 CD edition of the Black Album. Includes demos and live material.
| | HYUNG RAE K. - 28/Jul/2022 We know the music, we know it's a masterpiece and it sounds incredible in this reissue.
The boxset is wondrous, they really went above and beyond with the massive amount of extra goddies and mementos.
| | Yuriy P. - 23/Dec/2021 In general, reviewing the Black Album of Metallica is a little empty occupation, anyway everyone has heard it for sure, and if not, then urgently, running after it. This is one of those albums for which the group is immortalized, inscribed in golden letters in the tablets of musical culture. This is one of the albums to which heavy music owes its massive popularization, breaking many sales records, outstripping a huge number of successful pop artists. With this album, the fashion began to scold Metallica, accuse of commerce, of course, all this is stupidity and envy. Because they were able to do what others only dream of. This album made Metallica a star in more than just the metal scene. After the ingenious "... And Justice For All" it was really time to change something, the pinnacle of technically sophisticated thrash was taken, and the subsequent hammering of this vein would lead to the fact that Metallica would turn into antique metalworkers, hammering the same for years. most. Fortunately, Metallica is not afraid of experiments and changes, and now, thanks to this, another masterpiece was born. Here we no longer have fancy 8-9-minute pieces, but much shorter and less complex structure, even more pop. However, the technicality still hasn't gone anywhere, lyricism, melodicism have been added, and "Nothing Else Matters" is generally something Metallica has never done before. But what is there to tell, you need to hear it. Such albums are timeless, out of competition, out of style
