Bach Goldberg Variations is an album by David Fray, released in 2021. The album is a classical CD. Bach maintains a strong presence in David Frayâ??s Erato discography, now expanded with a landmark of the solo keyboard repertoire: the Goldberg Variations. â??The Goldberg Variations are a real test,â? says Fray. â??They are the work of a lifetime, perhaps a work about life itself â?¦ a kind of rite of passage, a journey. Every element of human life is in them â?¦ When you return to the theme after the 30 variations, as you look back over everything that has happened in the last hour-and-a-half, itâ??s as if you're at the end of your life. Few works give such a sense of eternity.â?
