Description: | The Hania Rani (piano) and Dobrawa Czocher (cello) duo stands as living proof that purely instrumental music has its rightful place on the contemporary music scene and is able to draw an increasingly broad spectrum of listeners. The genre of these ladiesâ?? music can be described as the more and more prominent â??modern classicâ??, represented by artists such as e.g. Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds or Max Richter.
The duo was created in August 2012, but the debut proper took place in September 2015, when the artists decided to release their first album, an inspiration for which was the figure of Grzegorz Ciechowski. They undertook to create new arrangements of his 10 most famous songs and they wanted them to be out of ordinary â?? that is why they decided to limit the instrumental set to just two instruments: cello and piano. This notion, tied up with their unhackneyed musical language and innovative compositional ideas, has certainly become one of the reasons for such enthusiastic reception of their debut album. The CD is also not short of original compositions, which perfectly bind the different arrangements together, combining them into a single whole.
The music created by these artists brings, first and foremost, a large dose of emotions and an experience of a lack of stylistic boundaries. In spite of their education in classical music, the duo aims to not cut themselves off from other genres, sneaking various musical styles into their compositions. This universality and honesty, which speaks through their interpretations, has won them enthusiasts of all ages and musical preferences. - 180GR."Biala flaga (2LP)" is a captivating double vinyl album by the acclaimed duo Hania Rani and Dobrawa Czocher, released under the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label.
