Founded in 1965 in Austin, Texas, the International Artists label is best known for The 13th Floor Elevators and their iconic garage-rock classic â??Youâ??re Gonna Miss Meâ??, as featured in the film â??High Fidelityâ??. The cult label also released a series of groundbreaking records from acts such as The Red Crayola, Lost & Found and The Golden Dawn. Under the guidance of Lelan Rogers (brother of country star Kenny) International Artists embraced the revolutionary new psychedelic sound that was emerging from the city. â??Epitaph For A Legendâ?? is a collection of previously unreleased rarities from the labelâ??s catalogue that Rogers compiled in 1980 for a rare double vinyl release. Newly remastered on 2-CD, this deluxe media book edition comes with a 40-page booklet with extensive liner notes from The Mole (Shindig! magazine).
