| | Description: | Es gibt unendlich viele Gründe, Bachs Musik zu lieben. Manche sind fasziniert von ihrer Komplexität und handwerklichen Makellosigkeit. Andere schätzen sie für ihren emotionalen und spirituellen Gehalt bei gleichzeitiger Absenz jeglicher Sentimentalität. Wiederum andere erliegen dieser so reizvollen Mischung aus Klarheit und Wärme.
Auch ich liebe Bach aus all den erwähnten Gründen, nebst vielen anderen. Für mich steht auÃ?er Frage, dass er der gröÃ?te Komponist aller Zeiten war. Umso erstaunlicher (und sympathischer) finde ich dabei die demütige Haltung, die aus seinen wenigen Ã?uÃ?erungen über das eigene Werk und die eigene Lebensaufgabe als Komponist mitschwingt. Wenn ich lese, dass ein Komponist wie Bach seine gewaltige Partiten-Sammlung unter dem bescheidenen Titel Clavierübung herausgibt oder in einem anderen Zusammenhang formuliert, alle Musik müsse letztlich der â??Ehre Gottes und Recreation des GemuÌ?thsâ?? dienen, manifestiert sich darin eine bewusste Ausklammerung der eigenen Person â?? im Gegensatz zu der chronischen Selbstüberschätzung und grenzenlosen Egozentrik meiner eigenen Generation.
