Description:Mastodon's ninth full-length album, 'Hushed And Grim' closes a four-year gap. It is the heavy rock quartet??s first double album and first new record since 2017??s Emperor of Sand, which netted the Atlanta band a GRAMMY® Award in the category of ??Best Metal Performance?. Over the past year, the group recorded HUSHED AND GRIM in their hometown, collaborating with producer David Bottrill [Tool, Rush, Muse, Peter Gabriel] behind the board. As their most ambitious body of work to date, it consists of 15 tracks, surveying sonic landscapes of rock, psychedelia, punk, metal, alternative, and prog threaded together by the innately expressive musical interplay of these four virtuosic musicians. For as much as HUSHED AND GRIM is steeped in one of the darkest periods of the band??s career as each member experiencing personal grief, its light shines through in a fully realized manifestation everything Mastodon is right now. -
Mastodon will release their anxiously awaited ninth full-length album, HUSHED AND GRIM, on October 29, 2021 via Reprise Records. Over the past year, the group recorded the album in their hometown, collaborating with producer David Bottrill [Tool, Rush, Muse, Peter Gabriel] behind the board. As their most ambitious body of work to date, it consists of 15 tracks, surveying sonic landscapes of rock, psychedelia, punk, metal, alternative, and prog threaded together by the innately expressive musical interplay of these four musicians. At the same time, an atmosphere of loss, loneliness, and longing permeates through the trio of cathartic vocals as they musically say goodbye to old friend, confidant, and longtime manager the late Nick John by architecting a magnum opus that bears the influence of his eternal memory. LP pressed on 180 gram vinyl.

HYUNG RAE K. - 29/May/2022 4 of 5 Stars!
Over two decades, Atlanta's Mastodon have proven themselves sonic and lyrical explorers. 2004's Leviathan examined the psyches of Captain Ahab and the whale from Herman Melville's Moby Dick and 2007's Blood Mountain offered a protagonist chased across metaphysical geographies by a mutant cyclops. 2009's Crack the Skye's narrative reflected on a disabled boy astral-projected into Rasputin's body. Hushed and Grim follows one theme throughout its 88-minute sonic journey; it is not so much a concept as a meditation on the stages of grief. In 2018, Mastodon lost Nick John, their manager. It is the second time in their history that tragedy has entered their inner circle. While recording The Hunter in 2010, Brent Hinds' brother was killed in a shooting accident.

Viacheslav P. - 17/Dec/2021 5 of 5 Stars!
Excellent album, sometimes its too serious, but its very strict and beautiful content. The quality of vinyl is decent. Uncomfortable square inner sleeves are used for packing. My item is from Argentina.
