Description:Kollaboratives Projekt mit u.a. Michael League von Snarky Puppy und Singer/Songwriter-Star Becca Stevens. Das Konzept von Mirrors ist einfach: fünf einzigartige musikalische Geister kommen unter einem Dach zusammen, um jeweils einen Song mit einem anderen zu schreiben, wodurch zehn Songs entstehen, die für das jeweilige Songwriter-Paar persönlich sind, aber alle durch den kollaborativen Koproduktions- und Aufnahmeprozess wiederum etwas gemeinsames haben. Aufgenommen in der Nähe von Portalegre in der Region Alto Alentejo in Portugal, kamen die Künstler ?? einer mit Wohnsitz in Spanien (Michael League), zwei aus den USA (Becca Stevens und Louis Cato) und zwei aus Portugal (Gisela Joāo und Justin Stanton) ?? Ende August zusammen, inmitten der fast unüberwindlichen Reisebeschränkungen und Probelem in der menschlichen Zusammenarbeit, die COVID-19 den Menschen auf der ganzen Welt aufgezwungen hat. Ein kollektiver Geist der Dringlichkeit und Sehnsucht nach dem kreativen Prozess führte zur Geburt einer wirklich besonderen Sammlung dynamischer, persönlicher und kraftvoller Musik, die die einzigartigen Stimmen jedes Künstlers einfängt und sie gleichzeitig durch neue und lebendige Prismen wirft, die zusammen geschmiedet wurden mit ihren kompositorischen Pendants. -
The concept of Mirrors is simple: bring five unique musical spirits under one roof to each co-write a song with one another, yielding ten songs that are personal to the respective pair of songwriters yet are all unified through the collaborative co-production and recording process. Recorded just outside of Portalegre in the Alto Alentejo region of Portugal, the artists - one residing in Spain (Michael League), two in the USA (Becca Stevens and Louis Cato), and two in Portugal (Gisela Joao and Justin Stanton) - came together in late August amidst the nearly insurmountable restrictions to travel and conventional means of working together that COVID-19 has enforced upon people around the globe. A collective spirit of urgency and yearning for the creative process led to the birth of, I believe, a truly special set of dynamic, personal, and powerful music that captures each artists' singular voices while simultaneously casting it through new and vibrant prisms forged alongside their compositional counterparts.
