Mute and Young God Records reissue Soundtracks for the Blind on vinyl, the final Swans album released in 1996 prior to their 2010 reformation. Led by Michael Gira, Swans formed in 1982 and produced a series of diverse albums before disbanding in 1997. During this time they made their mark and have since become an influential band for countless experimental and post-rock acts, and after much request from fans a limited edition box set version of Soundtracks for the Blind was released in 2018, which this reissue is reformatted from. Michael Gira explains that â??This album has everything in there â?? all the ideas from Swansâ?? initial 15 years of work.â? -

SOUNDTRACKS FOR THE BLIND (1996) 4xLP Remastered in 2018 and Reformatted from the Ltd. Edition Box Set. Includes Poster, Art Insert, and Download Card which includes German language companion album "Die Tur Ist Zu".

2021 4LP gatefold version of the 2018 remaster. Contains 18x24" poster and cardboard insert with lyrics & credits. Contains a download card for a choice of FLAC or MP3 downloads of the entire album and its companion release ?Die Tür Ist Zu". Copies ordered from Young God Records come signed by Michael Gira on the back. All material comprising this album was compiled from a wide variety of sources - ranging from hand-held cassette recordings, to found sounds, to samples, to loops, to finished multi-track recordings - and was combined, collaged, manipulated and EQed at Griffin Mastering, Atlanta, GA.
