Das DebÃ¼talbum des schwedischen Heavy Metal/Doom-Quartetts The Sonic Overlords. Die Mischung aus melodischer Rock-MajestÃ¤t und gewaltigem Doom wurde erstmals mit der VerÃ¶ffentlichung ihrer DebÃ¼tsingle "In My Darkest Room" im Oktober 2020 bekannt. Der Song wurde in ganz Skandinavien im Radio gespielt und verbreitete sich anschlieÃ?end auf dem europÃ¤ischen Festland, in den USA und in Australien, da DJs und Programmgestalter von der Kombination aus kraftvollen, dunklen Riffs und epischer Melodik mit EinflÃ¼ssen von Dio/Martin-Ã?ra, Black Sabbath, Rainbow, Judas Priest, Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, frÃ¼hen Candlemass, Yngwie J. Malmsteen/Rising Force, Scorpions und MSG angezogen wurden. Die Mischung aus Kraft, DÃ¼sternis und MusikalitÃ¤t der Band wurde vom ehemaligen Sabbath-SÃ¤nger Tony Martin durch ein Shout-out auf seinen Social-Media-KanÃ¤len erkannt, was zu einer Freundschaft fÃ¼hrte und Martin sogar anbot, einen der Songs der Band zu singen, der als Bonustrack auf der CD erscheint. -

Sweden's The Sonic Overlords release their highly anticipated album, Last Days of Babylon. The group's combination of powerful doom riffs and the epic and melodic majesty of 'late '70s/early '80s heavy rock with influences from the likes of Dio/Martin-era Black Sabbath, Rainbow, early Candlemass, Yngwie J. Malmsteen/Rising Force, Scorpions and MSG create something warm and familiar yet unique and fresh. The band's blend of power, darkness, and musicality was recognized by former Sabbath vocalist Tony Martin via a shout-out to "In My Darkest Room" on his social media channels leading to his appearance singing the bonus track on the CD version of the album.
