Music from the Film by Bill Morrison This vinyl re-issue of JÃ³hannssonâ??s The Miners' Hymns includes the new bonus track Centennial, the track was written by JÃ³hann JÃ³hannsson in 2004 on the occasion of his grandmother's 100 years anniversary and performed on a crank organ by JÃ³hann Gunnarsson, JÃ³hannâ??s father The re-issue of the original score recording also includes new additional liner notes and photos by filmmaker Bill Morrison - 180GR.

The Miners' Hymns is a collaboration between American filmmaker Bill Morrison and J¢hann J¢hannsson who, with images and music, created a wordless documentary to depict the ill-fated mining community in North East England. The film is a timely reminder of choices that were made a generation ago regarding the role of labor in a corporate-based economy, the repercussions of which are still being felt today.
