Extra-Infos: .. Concerto In E Minor
Description:Mendelssohn Violin Concerto In E Minor is an album by Augustin Dumay / Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, released in 2021. The album is a classical CD. Augustin Dumay returns to the Mendelssohn E minor concerto after a gap of over 30 years since his first and only recording of the work for EMI. On this new version he directs the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra in a refreshing new look at this everpopular masterpiece. The rest of the programme comprises the late violin sonata in F that the composer worked on at the same time as the violin concerto but left unpublished. A selection of Songs without Words arranged for violin & piano by David Walter complete this delightful programme. The pianist is Jonathan Fournel who has recently won the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition. He has been studying with Louis Lortie since 2016. - .. CONCERTO IN E MINOR
The CD "Violinkonzert op.64/Violinsonate MWV Q 26/+" features the exceptional artistry of violinist Augustin Dumay, pianist Louis Lortie (for the sonata), and the renowned Orpheus Chamber Orchestra. This release presents two of Felix Mendelssohn's most celebrated works: his Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64?a staple of Romantic repertoire known for its lyrical beauty and technical brilliance?and the expressive Violin Sonata in F major, MWV Q 26. Dumay?s nuanced interpretation brings out both passion and elegance, while Fournel?s sensitive piano accompaniment enriches the chamber textures. The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra is acclaimed for their conductor-less performances that highlight musical collaboration at its finest. Released by Onyx Classics, a label recognized for high-quality classical recordings and innovative artist collaborations, this album stands as a testament to artistic excellence.
