Der in Deutschland fÃ¼r seine Akustik berÃ¼hmte Saal passt perfekt zur Stimmung des Albums, das warm, zeitlos und einsam zugleich ist. Die Musik umfasst zeitlose Klassiker wie â??Blues for a Hip Kingâ?? und â??The Weddingâ??, selten aufgenommene StÃ¼cke wie â??Tokaiâ?? sowie neue wie â??Once Upon A Midnightâ??, â??In The Eveningâ?? und â??Signal On A Hillâ??. Die anhaltende Reinheit und Ehrlichkeit von Ibrahims Anschlag und die emotionsgeladene SimplizitÃ¤t seiner Kompositionen zeigen, dass selbst in der Dunkelheit Hoffnung durchscheint. Vinyl LP pressing. Each year on October 9th, Abdullah Ibrahim performs a solo piano concert at the Hirzinger Hall in South Germany in order to celebrate his birthday. Due to lockdown restrictions last year, this traditional birthday concert was replaced with the opportunity to record a solo piano performance. Hirzinger Hall, in Riedering, South East Germany, is famous for it's incredible acoustics, and Ibrahim's solitary performance lends itself perfectly to the space, The recording crew was sparse, the audience non-existent, yet Ibrahim's communion with the piano remains warm and timeless.
