A Glimpse Of The Eternal is an album by David -Quartet- Binney, released in 2022. The album is a jazz CD. Starring Craig Taborn on piano, Dan Weiss on the drums andÃ? Eivind Opsvik on Bass. The tenth Criss Cross album with Binneyâ??s imprimatur, A Glimpse of the Eternal, is, he says, â??completely different than anything Iâ??ve ever done â?? chilled out, an honest and pleasant vibe, nothing too complicated or intense.â? If that self-description seems at odds with the intense, complex tonal personality that Binney has presented on his 30-album discography since 1990...well, that was his intention. He explains: â??Initially, I wanted to do something like those almost commercial records from the â??50s or â??60s or â??70s, like a Gene Ammons record I have where he plays these balladlike tunes for 2Â½-3 minutes.â? He adds: â??All the guys were superenthusiastic about doing a straight-ahead ballads record.â? -

Between 2004 and 2016, alto saxophonist David Binney made nine albumsfor Criss Cross as either leader or co - leader, presenting predominantly his distictive original music. The tenth Criss Cross album with Binney's imprimatur, A Glimpse Of The Eternal, is, Binney says, completely different than anything I've ever done - chilled out, an honest and pleasant vibe, nothing too complicated or intense. The album was recorded June 29, 2021 at the Samurai Hotel Recording Studio and mixed and mastered by Mike Marciano at the Systems Two Recording Studios.
