Victorian Gardens Ragtime is a collection of 19 original piano rags, most recorded here for the first time and bringing together many of today's most popular ragtime pianists and composers from around the world, including David Thomas Roberts, Fred Hoeptner, Carl Sonny Leyland, Kathi Backus, Vincent Matthew Johnson, Brian Holland, Tom Brier, Larisa Migachyov, Kylan deGhetaldi, Max Keenlyside, and many more in honor of beloved ragtime patron Arlo "Chip" Lusby. The music is fresh and new, showcasing the rich diversity of ragtime today: from boogie woogie and Terra Verde to stride and folk ragtime to the "classic" ragtime styles of Joplin and Lamb; some of the pieces are warm and contemplative, others are rollicking and joyous.
