Vivaldi: Stabat Mater is an album by Jakub Jozef Orlinski, released in 2022. The album is a Cd+Dvd classical 2-CD. Jakub JÃ³zef OrliÅ?ski, with the instrumentalists of Capella Cracoviensis and conductor Jan Tomasz Adamus, performs Vivaldiâ??s Stabat Mater on both CD and DVD. As Easter approaches, the text of the Stabat Mater â?? a powerful and moving 13th century poem â?? offers a timely reflection on Maryâ??s suffering at the Cross. When recording the work in KrakÃ³w in 2020, Jakub JÃ³zef OrliÅ?ski envisioned taking this â??pandemic projectâ?? further by making a video to illustrate Vivaldiâ??s 20-minute score. The resulting short feature has been conceived by award-winning director Sebastian PaÅ?czyk. Through powerful and sometimes disturbing imagery it makes a new and thought-provoking interpretation of the Stabat Mater. Set in the present day, its episodic, enigmatic narrative explores the themes of empathy and the interdependence of man and nature.
