â??I wish life could be Swedish magazinesâ? â?? Iggy Pop, â??Five Foot Oneâ?, 1979. Fronted by the irrepressible Van Walker, Swedish Magazines are a delightfully raucous Melbourne punk outfit. Originally hailing from Tasmania, Van and his brother Calâ??s band bridged the divide between the Cosmic Psychos, Powder Monkeys, and Amyl and the Sniffers and Civic. -

Tracks 1 to 3, plus 6 were first issued on the EP '[r=12821464]' , which was self-released on March 26th 2005. Tracks 1 to 3 & 6 were also issued along with track 7 on '[r=9476351]', which was self-released in August 2005 via the Stealth Blonde Records imprint (STEALTH001). Tracks 4, 5 & 8 to 10 are from the album '[r=12003781]', which was released by Rock Against Bullshit on March 18th 2011 (RABS 010). - ? ? ? ? - Tracks 11 to 15 are bonus tracks that are exclusive to the CD version 'I Wish Life Could Be...' ? these live-in-the-studio recordings were not included on the vinyl or download versions of this compilation: Tracks 11 & 14 recorded live for the radio programme 'Shock Treatment' w/ [a5307632] at PBS 106.7 FM in Collingwood, Victoria, Australia on May 2nd 2005. Tracks 12, 13 & 15 recorded for the radio programme 'Studio 5 Live' at PBS 106.7 FM during 2005.
