Before the currently worldwide very popular thrashy death metal band Legion Of The Damned was formed, with albums out on Massacre and Napalm Records, vocalist Maurice Swinkels and drummer Erik Fleuren played in the more brutal extreme blackened death metal band Occult. They were hailing from Geldrop, Noord-Brabant, The Netherlands and the already very extreme barking voice of Swinkels was supported by female vocalist Rachel with an even more brutal grunt! After two studio-albums on the Dutch label Foundation 2000 they were on the search for an international record deal. Theyâ??ve recorded two demoâ??s to achieve that goal. The first 4 songs on this â??Archivesâ??-album come from a rehearsal room session in 1997 and the last 5 songs were recorded in the small Harrow Studios in 1998. It resulted in a deal with the German Massacre Records-label and Occultâ??s third studio-album â??Of Flesh And Bloodâ? saw the light in 1999. Now you can finally hear for the first time most of these songs in their original, raw and rough demo-version! -
