Described as a violist with power, confidence and excellent performance skills (Peteris Vasks), she sails through the sometimes tumultuous waves of a carefully curated repertoire, approaching old and new works with the same commitment. Through her practice, she constantly questions the traditional place of the performer in order to embody a poetic approach as well as a quest to surpass herself physically and spiritually. With the album Viola Borealis (2022), Marina Thibeault was awarded the JUNO 2023 for Best Classical Album of the Year (large ensemble), featuring Orchestre de l'Agora conducted by Nicolas Ellis.
