Description:Bloch: Sinfonia Sacra is an album by Antal Dorati / Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra, released in 2022. The album is a Limited Edition classical LP. Continuing Decca Classicsâ?? Mercury Living Presence, Half-speed Vinyl series with five more titles. New mastersâ??and new 3-to-2 mixes by Tom Fineâ??have been created from new HD transfers of the original first-generation master tapes and lacquers are cut at half-speed at Abbey Road and pressed on 180gm vinyl at Optimal to present definitive audiophile pressings, with original artwork and liner notes. - .. SACRA / AND WORKS BY PETERSON / 180GR.
Vinyl LP pressing. Mid-century Modern music, rich in dynamics and orchestral textures. The Wayne Peterson piece was commissioned and received it's performance and recording debut by Dorati's Minneapolis band. Bloch recorded April 17, 1960; Peterson recorded April 21, 1959. Both recordings were made in Northrop Auditorium, Minneapolis MN, using three Schoeps M201 microphones.
