Description:
THe featured artists are Sam Alama's Hawaiians, one of the leading bands in Hawaii in the 1920s and early 1930s. All 18 of their pre WW2 recordings are here and all have been expertly remastered by Nick Dellow from rare 78 rpm records. These include Brunswick side from the Johnny Noble series, rare Victor and Columbia issues - all featuring the wonderful acoustic steel guitar of Charles Namahoe. 4 bonus sides with Antone Gabriel's great steel playing round out the package. The CD includes a detailed booklet with discography and Robert Armstrong artwork.
