Recorded April 19 (between 12:10 and 2:45 AM), 1964, live at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Paris. A duet of "I Can't Get Started" that was performed by Charles Mingus and Eric Dolphy was not recorded due to the lateness of the hour (after 3 am). Remastered for reissue at Art et Son Studio, Paris Reissue of the America triple LP 003/4/5 Tracks 1-1 and 1-3 previously unreleased The version of Track 1-3 on the original 3 LP set was recorded during the previous evening's concert and mistitled "Goodbye Porkpie Hat," due to technical flaws in the recording of "So Long Eric." These issues were remedied. The mistitled track from the original LP set is omitted, replaced by the performance from the actual concert.
