Description: | Skywriter is the sixth studio album by the Jackson 5, released on March 29, 1973. Lead singer Michael??s vocals were now showing the signs of his maturing tenor voice, while Jermaine??s voice had become much deeper in tone. The album sold more than 3 million copies worldwide. You can find original tracks and covers (??Touch? originally performed by the Supremes, or ??I Can??t Quit Your Love? originally performed by the Four Tops). - INCL. "CORNER OF THE SKY", "HALLELUJAH DAY" & "TOUCH"CD reissue. Skywriter, the Jacksons seventh studio album (1973) is maybe one of their most underrated albums. It lacked the big monster hits when it came out, coupled with the murmurs that Michael's voice was changing, it didn't sell so well. Michael got to express himself a little more as a young man. "Touch" (originally recorded by the Supremes in 1971), features Michael and Jermaine singing about satisfying a woman in bed. Michael (14 years) expressing himself a little more as a young man, no longer a child. Skywriter is definitely not your run-of-the-mill album, this one's a keeper, for sure. With it's mixture of harder blues, gospel, funk and even progressive elements this album showcased The Jacksons running to the top. It's obvious they really enjoyed making this album. |
