Die kanadischen â??Stuten von Thrakienâ?? im Exil â?? mit ihrem ersten Album seit zehn Jahren. 2009 von der SÃ¤ngerin/Gitarristin ThÃ©rÃ¨se Lanz und dem Schlagzeuger Stef MacKichan, gegrÃ¼ndet verÃ¶ffentlicht das Noise-Doom-Duo Mares of Thrace aus Calgary, Alberta im folgenden Jahr sein DebÃ¼t The Moulting. Produziert von Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium, Pelican, Yob), wurde es von der Kritik gefeiert und schnell ein Hit im Campus-Radio, genauso wie sein ambitionierter Nachfolger The Pilgrimage, ein Dreiakter mit biblisch inspirierter Geschichte, der das historische Melodram von KÃ¶nig Davids Beziehung zu Bathsheba rund um Lanzâ?? knirschende Riffs und MacKichans Moloch-Percussion webt. Mit diesen Alben legte die Band Zehntausende von Kilometern auf Tourneen durch Kanada und die USA zurÃ¼ck und erhielt begeisterte Kritiken von Publikationen wie Decibel, Terrorizer, Blabbermouth, Magnet und PopMatters. Neu rekonstituiert um Lanz und den Bassisten/Schlagzeuger Casey Rogers, versuchen Mares of Thrace auf ihrem groÃ?artigen Doom-Metal-VermÃ¤chtnis mit diesem, ihrem dritten Longplayer und dem ersten Album in knapp einem Jahrzehnt, The Exile aufzubauen. -

Formed in 2009 by vocalist/guitarist Thérèse Lanz and drummer Stef MacKichan, Calgary, Alberta noise-doom duo Mares of Thrace released their debut, The Moulting, the following year. Produced by Sanford Parker (Nachtmystium, Pelican, Yob), it was critically acclaimed and a hit at campus radio, as was it's ambitious follow-up The Pilgrimage, a three-act Biblically inspired tale weaving the historic melodrama of King David's relationship with Bathsheba around Lanz's grinding riffs and MacKichan's juggernaut percussion. In those two years alone, the band logged tens of thousands of miles touring across Canada and the USA and received rave reviews from noted publications such as Decibel, Terrorizer, blabbermouth and PopMatters. Newly reconstituted around Lanz and bassist/drummer Casey Rogers, Mares looks to build on their magnificent doom-metal legacy with their third full-length and first album in just under a decade, The Exile.
