Eine Zusammenstellung aller VerÃ¶ffentlichung der Comets. Nach einer letzten Single auf Orange, "Big Business Jokes" b/w "Help Me", im Jahr 1983, blieb die Geschichte der Comets fast 40 Jahre lang unvollendet. Unvollendet, bis jetzt. Mit dieser Platte, welche alle offiziellen VerÃ¶ffentlichungen der Gruppe zusammen mit vielen unverÃ¶ffentlichten Aufnahmen an einem Ort versammelt, von denen viele zum ersten Mal seit der Invasion von Grenada zu hÃ¶ren sind, zeigen die Comets, was sie selbst immer wussten - sie waren mindestens eine halbe LÃ¤nge voraus. Mich Shields: "Wie der Name, so kamen und gingen auch die Comets im GroÃ?en und Ganzen recht schnell. Eine lebendige Vision, von vielen als "schnell, frisch, elektrisch und laut" bezeichnet, die in einem flÃ¼chtigen Moment am fernen Himmel ihre Spuren hinterlÃ¤sst. -

Of all the subcultural spores dispersed by the shockwave of Punk, the odds for a Brit-Pop, Jam-style Mod Revival sound germinating in a land-locked city in central Florida had to be tremendously slim. However, despite this low probability, the lack of tube stations at midnight and/or Eton rifles, or any type of local supporting scene or infrastructure, life finds a way. It also didn't hurt that Comets guitarist and lead vocalist and songwriter, Mich Shields, was himself actually Anglo and not just an Anglophile and thus did not have to fake his English accent.
