Jason Isbells Tribut an die reiche Musikkultur des US-Bundesstaates Georgia. Jason Isbell in seinen eigenen Worten: â??Georgia Blue ist eine Herzensangelegenheit. Am Wahltag 2020, als ich sah, dass der Staat Georgia eine gute Chance hatte, blau zu werden, kam mir eine Idee: als DankeschÃ¶n an den Staat ein Album mit Liedern aus Georgia aufzunehmen und das Geld einer gemeinnÃ¼tzige Organisation mit Sitz in Georgia zu spenden. Ich gebe zu, meine Motivation war ein bisschen egoistisch. Seit Jahren suche ich nach einer Ausrede, um diese Songs mit meiner Band und ein paar Freunden aufzunehmen. Die Songs auf diesem Album sind einige meiner Lieblingssongs mit Bezug zu Georgia. Wir haben Wurzeln im Blues und R&B, also haben wir einige brillante KÃ¼nstler engagiert, die uns dabei helfen, Songs von Precious Bryant, James Brown und Gladys Knight zu produzieren. Mein Lieblingsteil des Georgia Blue-Aufnahmeprozesses war die Gelegenheit, mit diesen ganz besonderen KÃ¼nstlern zusammenzuarbeiten, und ich danke ihnen: Amanda Shires, Brittney Spencer, Adia Victoria, Brandi Carlile, Julien Baker, BÃ¨la Fleck, Chris Thile, Steve Gorman, Peter Levin und John Paul White. On election day 2020, when I saw that there was a good chance the state of Georgia might go blue, I came up with an idea: to record an album of Georgia-related songs as a thank you to the state and donate the money to a Georgia based non-profit organization. I will admit my motivations were a bit selfish. For years, I've been looking for an excuse to record these songs with my band and some friends.
