Description:

Yann Tiersenâ??s forthcoming album is set for release on Mute on 10 June 2022 on CD and digitally. A limited edition clear double vinyl release will follow on 30th September, coinciding with the rescheduled European tour that includes Londonâ??s Roundhouse on 8 September. The new album, 11 5 18 2 5 18, was born from experimentation in the studio ahead of a performance by Tiersen at Berlinâ??s modular and synthesiser festival, Superbooth. With more time than usual to prepare for his live set, he found himself in his Eskal Studio on Ushant, completing the story he started with 2021â??s Kerber - which presented a beautifully textured and highly immersive electronic world. Using samples as his source, Tiersen has resampled, reprogrammed and recomposed audio to create entirely new tracks unrecognisable and decontextualised from their original versions. Where Kerber took a more nuanced and subtle approach to the electronics, 11 5 18 2 5 18 brings the listener into new sonic spaces and, as recent live performances can attest, these spaces include the dance floor. Yann Tiersen will embark on an extensive tour in June, with dates across Mexico, America, Canada and Europe throughout the year - full dates below. The CD release, packaged in a card pack with spot gloss varnish, is released on 10 June. The limited edition double clear vinyl with etching on one side will follow on 30 September 2022. -
