The Name Of This Terrain was recorded and pressed in a scant, custom run as a demo in 1969 â??and it so defied its own existence that, even after its producer died and his copies were discovered, Zeitlin steadfastly resisted its release for almost 20 years, destroying his remaining demos so not to posthumously suffer the same ignominy. LP 1 and CD are the first official issue of an unreleased Zeitlin / Graves / Marsh LP recorded in 1969 which only existed as test pressings prior to a very limited unofficial private release in 2016 under the title [r9451644], not to be confused with Zeitlin's entirely different 1967 Columbia release [m531259]. LP 2 is a compilation of previously released Denny Zeitlin Trio tracks culled from LPs from around the same time period ([m=531259], [m=1591306]).
