 | | Description: | This release of half-speed mastered editions of Japanā??s Tin Drum. It is being issued as remastered single LP on 180gram vinyl and as special 2LP set, also on 180gram vinyl, which play at 45rpm for enhanced fidelity. An Obi strip and Abbey Road certificate are also included.
A Half Speed Mastered edition of Japan's fourth album from 1980. Mastered by Miles Showell at Abbey Road. Features the single "Gentlemen Take Polaroids". This record was cut using a specialist technique known as half-speed mastering.
This artisan process results in cuts that have superior high frequency response (treble) and solid and stable stereo images.
In short, a very high quality master that helps to create a very high quality record.
In addition to this, this album will be released as a double 45 RPM half-speed mastered edition. This is the ultimate for high quality reproduction as the faster the replay speed of the record, the higher the potential quality. Also, the shorter side times allow the level recorded to the master lacquer discs to be increased thereby improving the signal to noise ratio. - .. Universal. 2022.2022 Japanese reissued remastered limited edition SHM-CD (Super High Material CD) of LP originally released in 1980. It comes with four bonus tracks; three were not on the original LP: track 9, The Experience of Swimming; track 10, The Width of a Room & track 12, Some Kind Of Fool.
Some Kind Of Fool was initially planned for the album [m=74165] in 1980, but the track was removed by Sylvian and replaced with Burning Bridges. Track 11 is a remixed version of Taking Islands In Africa by [a26055]. Track 12 is the same remixed version of Some Kind Of Fool by [a23036] & remixed by [a159513] as appears on Sylvian's compilation [m=32803] in 2000.
This release comes in a miniature LP card sleeve with two obi. The first obi mirrors that from the '88 series, [l301732] & [r=1852578]. The second obi lists the SHM-CD ® logo. Inside the mini-LP card sleeve is a 17-page booklet with Japanese liner notes and lyrics in both English & Japanese. Also supplied is a miniature official merchandise sheet included in the original UK vinyl LP in 1980.
