Description: | Delicate, pastoral take on Latin-jazz, highly individual... utterly distinctive. Excellent album. (Time Out-London) Entirely self-taught, Branco Stoysin began playing guitar at the age of 15 and very soon found a love of jazz and Brazilian music, influenced by Joe Pass, Charlie Parker and Antonio Carlos Jobim. Branco has been composing his own music since he was 18 and formed his own "Sad Nova Trio" early on, whose success led to concerts being broadcast on Radio and TV. Branco now lives in London, has formed a new trio (with bassist Leslee Booth and drummer Paul Canton) and is actively composing and playing at venues such as the National Theatre, Royal Festival Hall, Barbican Arts Centre, Bath International Guitar Festival and much more. |
