Six of Australia's beloved artists shed gentle light on the settling hours in new album "Nightlight", presented by award-winning charity the Hush Foundation with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra."Nightlight" is out now and is the Hush Foundation's nineteenth album release.More than two years in the making as Covid played havoc with timelines alongside the logistics of scheduling six high profile female artists - Missy Higgins, Kate Miller-Heidke, Megan Washington, Mama Kin, Emily Wurramara, and Naomi Crellin - and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, "Nightlight" is a gentle and beautiful album for parents, carers and the village who raise us.These beloved artists, their voices, their shared experience and the TSO keep company with the night and those who pace in their slippers, who rock, worry and becalm the dark while the rest of the world sleeps.Our six artists visited carers, parents, children, babies, patients and staff in hospitals and care communities to listen and to reflect on their own experiences of caring and motherhood. What the artists took away with them helped compose these eleven beautiful songs. Calm, concern, wisdom, hope and love are threaded into lyrics and music that will soothe and gently hold otherwise lonely night-time spaces.
