Description: | Color Changes is considered by many to be one of the finest albums by trumpeter and pioneer of the flugelhorn in jazz, Clark Terry. Rather than the usual jam session, Terry utilized specific arrangements by Yusef Lateef, Budd Johnson, and Al Cohn for this 1960 date. At the time of this recording, he had recently finished a stint with Charles Mingus' group and one can hear the subtle influence that association had on these sessions. The result is an album which ranges through many moods and many textures, which is why the album was titled, Color Changes. This brand new reissue is available on CD and LP (180g) and has been remastered from the original Candid Records master tapes by Bernie Grundman. - Recorded at Nola Penthouse Sound Studios, New York City, November 19th, 1960.
8-page booklet; liner notes by Nat Hentoff.
Catalogue number given as 30091 on top banner of the front cover, and as 30092 on disc and on the spine of the gatefold.
