So inspired by the story of these five Mongol Muslim eunuchs: Zheng He, Yang Qing, Hong Boa, Zhou Man, Zhou Wen, who were the admirals under Ming Emperor Zhu Di, I was inspired to compose this work. Each movement is a rendering of each spirit channeled through me, culminating with their leaving one by one. They circumnavigated the globe, before the Europeans, and their rightful place in time.
