Description: | This release presents the four albums recorded by Eric Dolphy as leader or coleader with Roy Haynes on drums, all of which are in Quartet or Quintet formats. The four iconic albums are Outward Bound (Prestige/New Jazz NJLP 8236), Straight Ahead (Prestige/New Jazz NJLP 8255), Far Cry (New Jazz NJLP 8270), and Out There (New Jazz NJLP 8252). Featured with Dolphy and Haynes are such stars as Freddie Hubbard, Booker Little, Oliver Nelson, Jaki Byard, and Ron Carter, among others.
