Description:Limited eight CD set containing four studio albums from the legendary Cactus recorded from 1970 to 1972 plus a host of bonus tracks. A real treat for fans of blues rock, proto-stoner rock, and proto-metal. Featuring their bluesy, gritty rock which became a big influence on future generations of hard rock and heavy metal bands, including Montrose, AC/DC and Van Halen. Also contains four CDs of live recordings from the period recorded at the Ellis Auditorium in Memphis, at the 1970 Isle Of Wight Festival, the 1972 Mar y Sol Pop Festival in Puerto Rico and at the more intimate settings of Gilligan's Club in Buffalo, New York. The latter recorded by legendary producer Eddie Kramer (Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin) with The Electric Ladyland Mobile Unit.
CD1: "Cactus" (1970) - originally released as ATCO SC 33-340, on 1st of July 1970. Recorded at Ultra-Sonic Recording Studios in Hampstead, NY. This album should be played at "High" level. CD2: "One Way...Or Another" (1971) - originally released as ATCO SD 33-356, on 24th of February 1971. Recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York, NY. Dedicated to Bullhead. CD3: "Restrictions" (1971) - originally released as ATCO SD 33-377, on 18th of October 1971. Recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York, NY, except "Token Chokin'" recorded at Atlantic Recording Studios in New York, NY and "Mean Night In Cleveland" recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida. Additional recordings were made at Criteria Studios. Remixed at Criteria Studios. CD4: "'Ot 'N' Sweatty" (1972) - originally released on ATCO SD 7011, on 28th of August. Tracks 4-1 to 4-3 were recorded live by remote unit at the Mar Y Sol festival in Puerto Rico on 3rd April 1972. Tracks 4-4, 4-7 & 4-8 were recorded at Media Sound in New York, NY. Tracks 4-5, 4-6, 4-9 & 4-10 were recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York, NY. Additional recordings were made at Atlantic Recording Studios, New York, NY & at Advantage Sound New York, NY.
