Obwohl I'll Sleep When You're Dead (etwas) strukturierter und melodischer ist als sein Vorgänger,
gehört El-Ps Produktion immer noch zu den schrillsten im Hip-Hop, und seine Themen und
Schattierungen bleiben schwarz, verfolgt von der Aussicht auf eine dystopische nahe Zukunft:
Zigaretten werden auf nassen Handflächen gelöscht, Gefangene werden vor ihrer Hinrichtung
vergewaltigt, und El-P - unser verrückter, manchmal unentzifferbarer Erzähler - steckt seinen Kopf
aus einem Reifen und schreit "Freiheit ist mein". In dieser Welt, wie auch in unserer, bewegen wir
uns auf der Ã?berholspur "mit Untergang und Krankheit". Wie El-Producto sagt: "Das ganze Design

No credits for individual tracks are given. Guest performers are listed but the tracks that they actually appear on and in what capacity are not. Perhaps facetiously, "Steven Segal" is also mentioned as a guest performer on the album. This is possibly an intended misspelling of the actor Steven Seagal's name.
